Our Review Editorial
A family trip to Akita for the Omagari Fireworks Festival is the springboard for one of Shin-chan's oddest outings, and the ordinary summer holiday cracks open almost immediately. When the residents of Yokai Land spill out and start running wild across Akita and the rest of Japan, the mischief goes national, and Shin-chan and company find themselves lured into the spirits' own territory for an adventure with rules entirely its own.
Comfort viewing for anime families and long-time fans of the series' particular blend of slapstick, regional affection and sudden sincerity. Expect a brisk, gag-dense pace, a bright folkloric imagination in the yokai designs, and a reliable turn toward warmth before the credits. Newcomers can jump in without homework, since the household dynamic explains itself within minutes. A cheerful, festival-lit pick for an evening when you want silliness with a little heart behind it.
